Tethered caps - much better than their reputation!
From July 2024, tethered caps will be mandatory for all single-use beverage containers up to 3 liters in the EU.
This innovation is causing debate, but we would like to explain the benefits to you. We believe that tethered caps not only benefit the environment, but also offer practical advantages for consumers.
Environmental protection & recycling
Tethered caps reduce plastic waste, as the cap always remains on the bottle and can therefore be easily recycled with the bottle. The aim is to reduce littering and better protect our environment.
Advantages for the consumer
With tethered caps, losing lids is a thing of the past. The tethered cap always stays on the bottle, which is practical and clean in everyday life.
Lasso Design vs Hinge Design
There are two predominant variants of tethered caps. The lasso design, where the cap is connected to the bottle by a strap, and the hinge design, which we offer. In the hinge design, the cap and bottle are connected by a hinge, which provides additional stability and comfort.
Why wait?
Although the directive will apply from July 2024, we have been offering tethered caps exclusively since 2022. This is of course part of our EPRO service.
