As PET experts, we know the many advantages of PET packaging and always advise our customers on finding the optimal PET bottle for their product and specific application.
We also inform our customers about upcoming changes to single-use plastic packaging. From 2024 there will be changes that also affect our EPRO PET bottles.
Extension of the mandatory deposit for milk bottles
With the extended mandatory deposit from January 2024, choosing PET packaging with a filling volume of 0.1 to 3.0 litres becomes even more sustainable. Bottles for milk and milk-based drinks with a milk content of at least 50% now fall under the take-back and deposit system of DPG (Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH). A sustainable step towards collecting, recycling and reusing these single-use plastic beverage bottles as a valuable raw material.
Unsere PET-Serie EPROJUICE has already complied with the mandatory deposit since 2022 and is therefore the ideal choice for filling milk and milk-based drinks. With volumes between 150 ml and 1,000 ml, it can be used for a wide variety of dairy products.
Tethered caps - firmly connected for more environmental protection
Another EU directive that finally comes into force for single-use plastic beverage packaging in July 2024 concerns tethered caps. The debate about permanently attached caps is wide-ranging. Nevertheless, the advantages of tethered caps should be communicated positively: valuable materials can be recycled, less plastic ends up in the environment and the caps stay where they belong – on the bottle.
Since 2022, EPROPLAST has also been offering closures in various colors as tethered caps.
