Extension of the mandatory deposit for milk bottles
Mit der erweiterten Pfandpflicht ab Januar 2024 wird die Entscheidung für eine PET-Verpackung mit einem Füllvolumen von 0,1 bis 3,0 Litern noch nachhaltiger. Milch- und Milchmischgetränke-Flaschen mit einem Milchanteil von mindestens 50% kommen nun in das Rücknahme- und Pfandsystem der DPG (Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH). Ein nachhaltiger Schritt, um diese Einweg-Kunststoffgetränkeflaschen als wertvollen Raw materials zu sammeln, recyceln und wiederzuverwenden. ♻

Tethered caps - firmly connected for more environmental protection
Another EU directive that will finally come into force for single-use plastic beverage containers from July 2024 concerns tethered caps. The discussion about the permanently attached lids is far-reaching. Nevertheless, the advantages of tethered caps should be communicated positively: Valuable materials can be recycled, less plastic ends up in the environment and the caps stay where they belong - on the bottle. 🔒
